Former Jayhawk Langford to Russia?

It looks as if former Kansas University guard Keith Langford is about to strike it rich.

According to various Web sites, including, Russian League team Khimki Moscow is about to sign Langford to a two-year deal for a total of $2.6 million U.S. dollars. The team also will pay a buyout to Italian League team Virtus Bologna of $400,000. Web site says the deal is completed, with the announcement coming soon.

Langford averaged 13.3 points per game last season. Former KU player Sasha Kaun plays for Russian League team CSKA Moscow.

Wonder if we'll see posts from KLM from Russia (for those who don't remember, that's Keith Langford's Mom).

Russia demonstrates how far a society can progress in a very short time, when it throws off an unrepresentative, highly centralized state government, then throws off a still born republican government and its drunken President, operates as a strong armed dictatorship lead by an ex KGB heavy, massively ramps up up oil and gas production (thereby destabilizing the Anglo-American refiner oligopoly and its lackey producer Oligopoly, OPEC), allies with organized crime and the meta-drug cartel, pays off all of its foreign debts with oil and drug revenues, kicks out the private central bankers, lets its nuclear/chembio/weather warfare technologies find their ways to key opponents of USA, reduces and streamlines its military, and practices representative government only when convenient. They can afford more American basketball players during Great Depression Version 2.0.

Wait! This sounds suspiciously like they are emulating USA...except for paying off foreign debts, kicking out private central bankers, cutting defense and ramping up oil and gas production. :-)

Players, like musicians, gotta go where the green is.

But be careful Sasha and Keith. Bank some of the money in Switzerland, or the Caymans. Russia is still part of the country where Stalin killed tens of millions of his own countrymen. And ex KGB Putin still appears to be calling the shots behind the scenes. They believe in drastic measures occassionally.

Post Script: Its amazing what can be done when one is not all financed up with funny money debt from private central banks. But the question remains: can Russia ever generate a government that is not a dictatorship?
