This is Mangino's first ever Rivals 250 signee. He's had 4-star recruits before, but none that cracked the Rivals 250.That and $7.50 will get you a nice cappuccino. But on paper, he's Mark's best recruit ever.

On paper, Josh Freeman was supposed to be a better QB than Todd Reesing. Save the paper.

Rivals ranks him the 11th best safety overall and says: "This two-way starter is used to handling the football as a running back and as a receiver." Sounds like the second coming of Aqib Talib! Welcome to KU, Bradley.

From what I've heard, he's going to be a wideout. KU is loaded at safety after the lst two recruiting classes. If he is as good as advertised, McDougald, Omigie, McGriff and Breshears could make the spread even more fun to watch in the future, though, I would predict one of them will switch (Breshears to corner?) knowing Mangino.

It will be interesting to see how Mangino translates now that he is getting higher caliber recruits. Most of our successes so far have been less talented guys that new they had to work harder than everyone else, be more prepared, etc. That's very different than working with guys who might have a little more sense of entitlement. It's the biggest reason why a lot of coaches at mid-majors never succeed at the BCS level. That said, he probably had his fair share of work with prima-donnas at OU and did pretty well with that. I'd certainly rather have talent than not.

It's true that he was an Ohio State commit, but you're gonna learn about it sooner or later. Might as well learn it now. It's not that big of a deal, but you should know before your Mizzou friends tell you.Ohio State pulled his scholarship when he got suspended for 3 games this season. You can find out for yourself why he was suspended. It doesn't bother me at all. We were in the right place to get him. And what he did to get suspended wasn't that bad, in my eyes. I'll ALWAYS give a kid a second chance.

I couldn't care less if he was an Ohio State recruit. It shows that a big-time school valued him, but I'm at a point where i simply trust Mangino's judgement. If there is one thing he really has an eye for it's talent. He knows what he expects and he has the uncanny ability to get talented players on the field one way or another.

longhawk, I know why he was suspended and why OSU pulled his offer, and I don't really care. I just hope he's smart enough not to make the same mistake at KU. If you do that kind of thing, fine, but when you are in a position he's in, you better not get busted. From what I've read, he owned up to his mistake, took his suspension, and has learned from it. Exactly the kind of kid we want at KU. Btw. him and Opurum, I think we are pulling in quality young men, in addition to them being pretty talented. Jamin I've been reading that McDougald moves to slot receiver and Beshears indeed goes to CB. We'll see how that plays out in the spring, but I love that Mangino and staff are willing to move lots of guys around to see where they best fit and where they can best help the team. I know it happens, esp. with new recruits, but it seems MM does it more than most. I like how he thinks outside the box. It's worked very well for us so far. Next issue for us now that recruiting is done, can we get MM on a diet? For his own benefit obviously, but for the sake of our program's future.

It's going to suck when Todd Reesing leaves after next season. I know I'm thinking way ahead, but I have a feeling we are going to miss him throwing to these new receivers.

I've not seen any official news postings on the situation, but it was for minor illegal activities to my understanding. Nothing big at all; he didn't hit his g/f or anything like that, and I'll just say that Aqib had the same issue, if that sheds any light on it for you.Without it being out there in a published source I don't know if I want to spread rumors about it. Guess in a way I am just by saying this, but I'm not going to convict him of a crime w/o concrete knowledge.

I just read that it had something to do with pot. I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I wouldn't mind if Michael Phelps was on our swim team, bong rips or not. I personally have better "field vision" when I'm smoking... but that's when I'm playing ea ncaa 2009.rcjh

Well if you found it somewhere else, yeah, that's what I heard too. Whatever you think about pot being illegal, the point is, he's a high profile kid, and while people might not be "targeting" him, it's noteworthy when he gets in trouble. Like I said, he owned up to it, and I hope it's not an issue at KU. Personally I don't smoke, but there are a whole lot worse things an 18 year old could do.

When oh when we will get rid of the outrageous pot laws in this country??? Can you imagine if Phelps had been seen holding a bottle of beer instead? There would have been some caption about him blowing off steam and that would have been the end of it. I still await the day when someone ... ANYONE ... can give me a good reason why alcohol is legal and pot is not. And I haven't smoked anything in about 30 years, so this is not a personal issue for me; I just hate things that have no logical basis.
