Agreed Billswinners. I thought it was beneficial for the young guys to continue to fly under the radar, and keep the carrot out of reach. Tonight's game will be a big indicator as to how much they have matured so far this season. This is the appetizer for the next four big games (OSU/home, at Paige, at kstate).

I was suprised to see we are one point favs tonight after the Keeg and Newell both picked up to lose. Where's the faith guys? I'm saying KU comes out strong, determined, and focused ... wins by 6.

AP poll voters are still giving North Carolina #1 votes...absolutley retarded.

Although I also prefer that we continue to grow without alot of fanfare, another side of this is that WE ARE KANSAS, and our team needs to believe that we belong with the big boys, and it's time to play with the drive and toughness to prove it. Like most of us, I had this road game circled as the real beginning of our drive for the Big 12 title. I'll be coaching my hardest from my front row living room seat.

I guess to get votes, you gotta upset Texas...Anybody banking on KSU making the tournament?
kustrong 4 years, 3 months ago
You come to Kansas to play in some of the most difficult environments and to prove yourself. If being ranked is motivation for another team, it is because their programs lack history. The ranking is not what we should be worried about. KU should be worried about whether or not our team is going to play defense and if our field general can keep his cool. You can not walk into Baylor, have a bad game, and come out with a victory. This is a winnable game, but KU needs to put itself in a situation to win. Here's hoping that is the case. Rock Chalk

Yeah...let's see how long we can hold onto it!!!

Here's to us not having a 10-minute lapse tonight! KU by 8....Collins out to prove himself, easily motivated after poor Saturday performance at home. HCBS, master motivator, gets KU ready to run through walls tonight. Rock Chalk! In regards to KSU - they are going to have to "steal" another game in order to be in the conversation for the NCAAs, I was just having this conversation before logging on.

I'm glad we are are rated again but this could not have happened at a worse time. Getting into the to 25 for the first time in a while is like being on the cover of Sports Illustrated. Bad things seem to happen. Baylor has nothing to lose and will come out with guns blazing. Hopefully we can get our offense going, particularly since defense has not been their long suit this year.On the good side, typically after a team has a really bad game, they usually come back and have a much better game. I hope that is the case tonight because we really didn't play our finest in the Colorado game which should have been our easiest league game of the year. At any rate, the game tonight should be exciting. Go JayHawks!

We are 7 1/2 point underdogs in one book tonight and now the kiss of rankings. We played poorly and won the last 2. Now we can play up to our potential and win in front of an audience that carries the east coast bias. Important for our egos, the team and ours.ROCK CHALK!

1bighawkfan — What book is that? Is that listed somewhere on the 'Net?Just curious. I've only seen Baylor favored by around 1.
mcorti 4 years, 3 months ago
i like the ranking. i hope it gives us some much needed swagger and ownership. lets do this thing!
mcorti 4 years, 3 months ago
by the way, I think Baylor has EVERYTHING to lose. They are suppost to be a better team this year then they are showing themselves to be as of late. Their conference record is really weak right now and a lose to KU could really hurt them even more - they only get 1 shot at the Hawks. I would expect this game to be a tight one if both teams show up.

How the heck is Texas still even in the top 25?
jayhawkjim80 4 years, 3 months ago
The ranking that I think is pretty humorous is UConn being #1, while they are only in third place in their league going into tonight's game against UL. Don't get me wrong, UConn is very good, but I do think that is funny.I personally thought we would jump back in this week. The bottom four teams in last week's poll all lost at least once while we won twice. Yes we are likely to have a stumble or two going forward, but the more we can win and keep hanging around the polls, the better chance we will have at being a top four seed come March and playing at Sprint Center the first two rounds.

Thank God, Vitale is doing the first game tonight.
jayhawkdon 4 years, 3 months ago
Vitale rarely does the second game on Monday's. That is not a surprise.
BoulderHawk 4 years, 3 months ago
Don't get your panties in a bunch, it is only 21 and 24 in the polls. Hardly a bulls eye.
jayhawkdon 4 years, 3 months ago
Nice that some fans are over reacting as usual. It's better to be ranked than not to be. Who cares when it happens. Last year, the only time KU was ranked #1 was after the Championship Game. Get over yourselves and enjoy the success of this year's hard work, which was not expected to happen.

We're still Kansas.

Arizona received 2 votes in the Coaches Poll???? Other than the AZ coach, what team would want to see AZ get ranked? Ohhhhh, never mind. lol
