Kansas University senior quarterback Todd Reesing will join teammates Kerry Meier and Darrell Stuckey on the West squad at the East-West Shrine Football Game on Jan. 23 at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla.

The game will be televised on ESPN2 at 2 p.m.

“It’s a huge honor to be invited to play with some of the best college players across the nation,” Reesing said in a release. “Personally, it’s a great opportunity to go showcase my ability in front of NFL teams. It’s icing on the top that Darrell, Kerry and I are going to be there together.

“Hopefully, I get a chance to throw some more passes to Kerry because that would definitely be familiar territory for me. It’s a great opportunity for all three of us to go out there one more time together and see what we can do, and I’m looking forward to it.”

Reesing earned honorable mention all-Big 12 honors in 2009. He also led the conference in total offense (311.2 yards) and was second in passing yards per game (301.3).

The West squad will be coached by Marty Schottenheimer, who coached in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers.
