Alycia Bachkora has joined Kansas University’s softball staff as an assistant coach to head coach Megan Smith.
Bachkora will have multiple responsibilities with the Jayhawk softball team but will work primarily on hitting and with the team’s infielders.
Bachkora, an Overland Park native, graduated from Bradley University in May with a bachelor’s degree in cell and molecular biology and a minor in psychology. Following graduation she was an assistant coach for the Wichita Mustangs softball club.
An All-Missouri Valley Second Team selection, Bachkora was a four-year letterwinner for the Braves’ softball team and was named to the MVC’s all-tournament team in 2009.
Bachkora also became Bradley’s single-season home run record holder and career home run record holder, while being named the school’s offensive player of the year and 4-D award her senior year.
