Michael Whittlesey is joining the Kansas staff as assistant coach for cross country and middle distance/distance running, KU coach Stanley Redwine announced Friday.
Whittlesey comes to KU after serving 11 years as the assistant coach in charge of cross country and distance running at North Carolina. In addition to his coaching duties at UNC, Whittlesey worked as the assistant director for both men’s and women’s track and field and cross country for the past four seasons.

He certainly brings in some good credentials. I hope we can get our track and field and cross-country teams back to the successes they had back in the 1950's and 1960's. Maybe this is a step in that direction?
