Oak Ridge, Tenn. Kansas University rowing took third in the Second Varsity Eight race and third in the Varsity Four race at the annual Southern Intercollegiate Rowing Association regatta on Sunday. Kansas had all five boats qualify on Saturday to take place in the grand finals Sunday.
“I think we did really well,” KU coach Rob Catloth said. “The 2V and 4V did really well. We’re hitting the middle of our season and working to get better.”
The First Varsity Eight boat placed sixth in a tough field that included the first ranked Grand Valley State boat and second ranked Purdue boat. The Novice Four and Novice 8 boats both finished fifth in their races.
