Lubbock, Texas Erin Wilbert and Maria Martinez claimed the only victories for Kansas University’s tennis team in a 4-2 loss Sunday to Texas Tech.
Martinez beat Tech’s Stefanie Peana, 6-2, 1-6, 6-4, at No. 5 singles, and Wilbert beat Kyla Coleman, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 6.
Because of windy conditions, the teams skipped the doubles matches and began with singles instead.
KU fell to 8-10 overall, 3-5 in the Big 12.
The Jayhawks will play host to Kansas State at 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Serve Tennis Center
