Wait until TTech comes to town. The secondary will have to step up or the Read Raiders could get 80 points easily. osu/nu/mu/ou must all be waiting for their 400 yard passing opportunities.USF and SHSU both crewed up the secondary and the QBs were not exceptional. Hope we can shutdown ksu/isu/cu to get at least to 6-6 and bowl elgible.

FlaHawk........I was at the game last night. Bomar can really put the ball where he wants it in tight spots......most of the time. The kid had a great rapport with his receivers. You don't see many college QBs that deliver the ball before the receiver comes out of his break, but Bomar consistently did it. So KU's DBs were in a Catch 22: play press coverage and take a chance of getting beat deep or play soft and let Bomar pick you apart. We're playing a couple of really young corners: Barfield is a RS freshman and #35 Powell, who is a true freshman. We really miss having the strength and experience of Kendrick Harper out there at corner. I don't think Chris Harris is giving up the big plays like the corner opposite him.Powell played a lot of snaps last night. He still has a learning curve. On the long TD he gave up, he was in press coverage. He jammed the receiver once at the line, gave the receiver an inside release. The receiver jogged 2 steps like the play was going away from him and then hit the gas and sprinted right by Powell. By that time, Powell knew he was cooked. Can't blame the DBs 100% because we are not getting any pressure on QBs from the front 4. Bomar had much more time than Reesing did all night. And like I said, Bomar really is talented. I suspect he will light up most of his competition this year and I expect SHS to win a lot of games this year.

Let's be honest - we have four of the best QBs in the country on our schedule. Bradford, Harrell, Daniel and McCoy are all better than Bomar, and their receivers are much better than anything we saw yesterday. If we can't deal with OU reject Bomar, how will we deal with four of the most prolific passers in the college game. Do we seriously want to ask Reesing and Co. to score 50 points in four games against top notch competition to have a shot at winning? That's unfair to the offense to ask them to put up 40 or 50 a night just to keep us in it. The D has to step up.

McCoy is not better than Bomar. He was a big part of the reason that Texas was mediocre last year.Bomar started for Oklahoma as a freshman, and would still be their starter now if he hadn't been dishonest.Still, there's no doubt that we need Harper back, or somebody needs to grow up in a hurry.

Exactly JB. To say that Bomar is an OU reject, like he wasn't a good enough QB is just ignorant. He was a reject there because he screwed up with a booster/NCAA violations for $. He won't get the props until the draft, but he's as good as any QB in the country. The rest of the cast isn't, but the QB is.This season is starting to sound eerily similar to 2 years ago (?). There were people who got all over the DB's because of the number of passing yards given up, but failed to notice the complete lack of pass rush. It will help with the coverage to get Harper back, but that won't solve the pass rush. It wasn't the strongest part of last year's D, but it seems like we've taken a step backwards. And this from a group that only lost J-Mac. (don't recall how much Haselhorst was playing.) Something needs to change up front, or the BigXII QB's will have a field day.

Exactly -- the 'hawks have GOT to develop pressure somehow. Pressure leads to mistakes and eases the load of the DBs. If the D line continues the way they have been playing, it could make for a long remainder to the season.
