Regular visitors to our Web site this morning noticed a problem: There was no Web site waiting for them.
Service was interrupted because a small, two-inch adapter that connects our servers to the broader Internet began to fail at 9 a.m. It failed completely by 9:30 a.m., said system administrator Alex Kritikos.
The 60-minute outage affected this Web site as well as others hosted by Mediaphormedia, the online division of The World Company, including KTKA.com, Lawrence.com and Kansan.com, which is hosted for the University Daily Kansan. All sites were back online by 10:30 a.m.
