This early in the season, awards are only barely making it out of previous years/preseason hype.He was replaced as a starter recently wasn't he? I also seem to recall a comment about the father of one player (who had been replaced on the starting lineup) being heard to say that his son was not liking Coach Mangino and just going thru the motions to finish his degree. That is so sad to hear regardless of who it is, because it is a divisive cancer that can destroy the extra intangible that made a difference last year and is lacking (IMO) this year. It is all the worse if it is indeed Rivera, since he was voted to be a captain/leader by his peers.

Good for Mike Rivera and KU! Maybe now we know why he is playing like he did in his Freshman/Sophomore years.HIs play is subpar, but not the only reason the KU defense and especially the LBs have dialed it down a couple of notches this year.
