Kansas University juniors Danielle McCray and Sade Morris scored 27 and 14 points respectively in the Jayhawks’ 75-56 victory over Saint Louis on Sunday at Chaifetz Arena.
McCray, who made one of her first seven shots, hit seven of 18 overall, including two of five threes. She also hit 11 of 12 free throws with 12 rebounds and four steals for her first double-double of the season.
Kansas forced two quick St. Louis turnovers and McCray and sophomore Nicollette Smith hit three-point baskets to open up an eight-point lead less than two minutes into the second half. Another bucket by Smith and a layup by Morris gave Kansas a 43-33 lead with 16:32 to play.
Porscha Weddington had 12 points and LaChelda Jacobs added 10 points, five rebounds and five assists for Kansas, which won its first road game of the season.
Theresa Lisch scored 21 points, while Janisha Gearlds added 11 for the Billikens, who fell to 1-3.
The Jayhawks (3-0) will meet New Orleans at 2 p.m. Sunday in Allen Fieldhouse.
