Kansas University volleyball sophomore Karina Garlington was named to the ESPN The Magazine Third Team Academic All-District on Thursday.

Garlington became the sixth Jayhawk and fourth in the last two years to earn the award for her success on the court and in the classroom.

Garlington, a Denver native, has earned a 3.61 cumulative grade-point average. She's working toward a degree in sports management. The 6-foot outside hitter is averaging 3.79 kills per set (fourth in the Big 12 Conference).
