I was really hoping for the 2 or 2:30 slow, but I'm okay with the 11:30am slot. It is better then freezing our buns off at 7pm. Rock Chalk

I would much rather freeze at night than get up for another 11:30 game. That means 6 of our 8 league games kicked off in the morning. And we didn't get a single night game.

"So KU v NU isn't on TV?"Pay per view. Thats right. But you can instead watch ISU vs. Colorado on TV. Unbelievable. The Big 12 TV package is a complete joke.

The parking lots for the Border War open five hours prior to kick-off, thus, at 6:30am. Now THAT is going to be some seriously early tailgating!! :o)http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/kan/genrel/auto_pdf/bordershowdown08-parking.pdf

Before I read all the comments, I was thinking it's just a sign of our success. 2 or 3 years ago we were jumping for joy at being on TV at all and didn't care about the 11:30 kickoff time. Now we've moved on to where we are complaining about before-noon game times or being banished to pay-per-view. Keep winning and we'll move into the 2:30 and 7:00 time slots.

I don't want us fans to lose focus on this week at Nebraska since we need that win bad, but since this is about the MU game I will ask the million dollar question, when will we find out about the future of this series? I would really like to see it move back to each campus.

Agree that the 11:30 starts are tough. Heck it makes for getting out of bed early on Saturday for tailgating. However I would rather be on at 11:30 than not at all. Another point, the 2:30 starts aren't all that. Yes you are on ABC, but a majority of those games are regional telecasts (with some exceptions) that are mostly in your conference markets. The FSN and ESPN games are almost better these days because they go to the entire country. Saturday night ABC games are a close second as some of those are national, but again not all. That Sat night game in Stillwater last year was a regional. If you see your team's start time is between 12:30 and 2pm, you aren't on TV that week, unless it is pay per view. Times have changed, you want your team to be on TV as much as possible for max exposure.

i heard that too. if it's true, the money better be outrageous. because it's not competitively worth it, to keep playing this game every year in Kansas City.

Bitch, bitch, bitch, that's all most of you are doing. I for one have been thrilled that most of the games have been on TV this year. It's been great to not just have to read about games the next day.Guys, get a clue: TV exposure means it's better for recruiting, better for publicizing KU, etc. So you can't tailgate quite as easily, or things are a little more inconvenient. So what? Other than the one person who has to work until noon and can't make the morning games (and I do feel your pain), no one has any cause to complain. Let's try to get some perspective on what this means for how far the program has come.

Actorman, problem is FSN is by area only. So the good players in Texas may not even see the game. Regardless, when we go in and whip the tiggers to claim the north, they'll play the Big 12 Championship at 11:30am.

Fair enough, Trobs. I thought FSN was national; I didn't realize that was also regional. But I still think people are complaining way too much about the time of the game. That's the unfortunate reality of the TV age: if we want to get more exposure, we have to sacrifice the comfort and convenience of a standard game time.

Im excited about keeping the Border Hodown on the border. However, I will take that back if they didnt fix some of the strategic mistakes they made last time. The best example might be not letting people come in to tailgate until a few hours before the game. I hope they wait and see if improvements have been made before they agree to the extension.

actorman ~ I have the Sports Pack on DirecTV and it contains all of the FSN channels. The majority of them show the same game, with several regional exceptions. The Texas FSN channels always show the Big 12 football games that are being broadcast on their network. I could not agree more regarding our good fortune on many levels to be on TV in the first place, regardless of time.fabio ~ there shouldn't be any such issues this time at the Border War, or at least any excuses. The parking lots are supposed to open FIVE hours prior to kick-off, and with an 11:30am start, that should give the early birds and those who follow plenty of time to make it in the lot. Also, they are separating parking for KU fans from MU fans - - appropriately KU fans on the west side of the stadium and MU fans on the east side.

Actorman, tx, and trobs --Although FSN is broken down to regions, the 11:30 BigXII game seems to be shown across the board with very few (if any) exceptions.Over the past couple of years I have lived in Florida and now live in Chicago. As I recall, FSN Florida would always show the BigXII matchup, and I know CSN Chicago (formerly FSN Chicago) does.I have a lot of time on my hands today, so I decided to see if this is true across the board. I looked up FSN Bay Area's site and they will be showing the KU - UT game. So will MSG in New York (formerly FSN New York.) I didn't have time (nor wanted) to check every single big market, but it's a safe bet that if San Fran, Florida, New York, and Chicago's FSN affiliates will be televising the game then everyone will. FSN is as close as you are gonna get to an across the board national game without being the primetime ESPN matchup at night. ABC and ESPN's earlier games may be subject to regional coverages. This is just what I've found to be true, if anyone knows any different feel free to refute my findings...

Thanks for checking it out, bmcmich. I'm in the Bay Area and it has always shown the KU game when it's been on FSN. That's why I assumed it was national.
