Ex-Jayhawk RB McAnderson cut by St. Louis Rams

Former Kansas University running back Brandon McAnderson was released by the St. Louis Rams, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

McAnderson, a Lawrence High grad, agreed to a deal with the Rams on April 27 after not getting selected in the NFL Draft.

As a senior at KU, McAnderson rushed for 1,125 yards and 16 touchdowns on 190 carries.

What???? I do not get this. So what NFL team wants an old school, do everything football winner? The Chiefs signed one of Chan Gailey's former players at fullback but they should still bring in B-Mac.

I'm with coloskihawk as well. I love and appreciate the work that guys like McAnderson and Cornish put in here, but you're kidding yourself if you honestly expect them to grab onto an NFL roster and pull themselves up. Both Cornish and McAnderson are great stories and great representatives of the University, and we should all be grateful for what they've done for us. But the NFL is a whole new beast where only the best of the best even compete for roster spots.
