Get out the brooms.

Kansas University’s baseball team beat Oklahoma, 9-4, on Sunday to complete the three-game sweep at Hoglund Ballpark.

It was badly needed. The Jayhawks (29-22 overall, 8-13 Big 12 Conference play) were in last place in the standings heading into the weekend and on the outside looking in for a berth in the eight-team Big 12 tournament.

Now, they’re firmly in seventh place, leapfrogging the Sooners (29-20, 6-14) in the 10-team standings.

Kansas pounded out 13 hits on Sunday, and finished with 45 hits in the three-game set. Ryne Price set the tone with a second-inning home run, and brother Robby Price finished 3-for-5 with two runs and a sparkling defensive play in the seventh inning to keep Kansas in front.

T.J. Walz (4-0) allowed four runs in 6 2/3 innings to get the win.

Kansas continues its long stay at home this week, playing Oral Roberts on Wednesday at Hoglund Ballpark before playing host to Missouri in a three-game weekend series.
