Austin, Texas Ryne Price hit a pair of solo home runs, but Kansas University's baseball team couldn't upset Texas on Friday.
The Longhorns ended the Jayhawks' longest winning streak in over a year at eight games with an 8-6 victory. UT catcher Cameron Rupp had two two-run homers and five RBIs.
Kansas' bats struck early against UT ace Austin Wood but couldn't muster enough to come back against the Longhorn bullpen.
Neither starting pitcher made it past the fifth inning.
The teams will meet again at 2 p.m. today.
