SPRINGFIELD, MO. — Kansas University senior Ryne Price went 3-for-5 with a homer and five RBIs, and Erik Morrison was a homer short of hitting for the cycle as Kansas University won its eighth straight, 11-7 over Missouri State on Wednesday afternoon at Hammons Field.

KU improved to 10-5. The Bears fell to 8-4.

The victory was the 400th at the NCAA Div. I level for KU coach Ritch Price. Tuesday, Price won his 800th game as a head coach at all levels.

KU bolted to a 4-0 lead through three innings, but the Bears responded with a five-run fourth.

Morrison tripled to left in the second and scored on a groundout by Casey Larson for a 1-0 KU lead in the second.

The Jayhawks added three more runs in the top of the third. With one out, senior John Allman was hit by a pitch, and junior Preston Land drew a walk. That set up Ryne Price to drive in his team-leading 18th run of the season with a seeing-eye single through the right side.

Morrison followed with a two-run double to deep center. It was his third extra-base hit in three at-bats.

Down 5-4 through four, the Jayhawks responded with a five-run seventh. KU sent 10 hitters to the plate.

Sophomore Brett Bollman recorded his first win in a Kansas uniform, pitching 22â3 innings of relief.
