KU jumper Manning an All-American

— Crystal Manning became the first All-American for Kansas University at the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday. Julius Jiles and Stephanie Horton each broke their own school records.

Manning followed up her career-best attempt in the long jump Wednesday by placing ninth with a jump of 20 feet, 6 inches.

Jiles sprinted past his own record in the 110-meter hurdles with a finish of 13.57 seconds, and Horton qualified for the finals of the shot put with a school-record toss of 54 feet, 21â2 inches.
