Host Argentina defeated the United States, 77-64, on Friday night in the finals of the FIBA Americas Under 18 championships.
Kansas University freshman guard Travis Releford scored 12 points off 5-of-8 shooting - he made two of four free throws - while starting and playing 31 minutes.
Releford, who attended Bishop Miege High in Roeland Park, also had two rebounds and a steal. Kemba Walker led the U.S. with 21 points.
The U.S., Argentina, Canada and Puerto Rico have qualified for the FIBA U19 World Championship, July 2-12, 2009, in New Zealand.

The U.S. qualified for the U19 in New Zealand, does this mean that Releford is on that team as well? In other words, will it be the same team?
