Lubbock, Texas — Texas Tech hired an Arizona Diamondback scout as an assistant baseball coach with responsibilities in all facets of the team's program, including pitching, offense and defense.
Ed Gustafson played for the San Francisco Giants and Minnesota Twins. He was an assistant coach on the Lewis & Clark, Portland and Washington college teams.
Gustafson also was an associate head coach and director of operations for the Tacoma Timbers in Washington and a scout for the Seattle Mariners.
