Historic win shows big steps for KU

It may not have been the Orange Bowl, but KU's Insight Bowl victory was momentous for several reason.

The Kansas football team, fresh off of Wednesday night's 2008 Insight Bowl victory, will return home Thursday evening. Fans can greet the Jayhawks at Forbes Field in Topeka, where they plan to land around 4:20 p.m.

Wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe caught 14 passes for 201 yards with three touchdowns to lead Kansas to a 42-21 victory over Minnesota in the Insight Bowl at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. Todd Reesing was 27-for-35 for 313 yards with four touchdowns. Kerry Meier contributed 10 catches for 113 yards, adding a passing and receiving touchdown.
