Baltimore — Former Kansas University bowler Rhino Page won a Professional Bowlers Association title at the Shark Championship on Sunday.

Page beat Wes Malott of Argyle, Texas, 197-189, for his second career title.

“I can’t tell you how much confidence this brings,” the 25-year-old from Topeka, Kan., said. “Three weeks ago I was pounding my head into the wall. But I went back to what made me me. I didn’t realize I had gotten away from it.”

I have to admit that I watched part of this (on ESPN). It was cool seeing the intro of Rhino walking into the venue wearing his Jayhawk gear.

Who is updating the bowling portion of this site? Did you know that the KU Bowling Team is headed to Nationals next week for the first time since 2005? We also have an individual going to the Nationals in the singles competition? What about the 300 that was bowled by a KU bowler at the last tournament, which was the only 300 to be bowled all year collegiately on a sport condition?

Hi BowlingCoach— It's hard to keep track of everyone, which is we rely on phone calls for many of our stories. Our office phone number is 785-832-7147 and our email is sportsdesk@ljworld.com if you have information to pass along. That'd be the best way to let us know about the achievements of this year's KU bowling team so we can pass it on to others.

I have some new info to be shared on the site but no one is responding to sportsdesk@ljworld.com or 785-832-7147.
