Former Kansas University golfer Gary Woodland of Topeka fired a 64 Thursday in the second-round of the final stage of PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament.
Woodland carded an eagle, seven birdies, nine pars and a bogey at PGA West’s Nicklaus Tournament Course in La Quinta, Calif. Woodland shot a 70 on the first day of the six-day tournament. Woodland and six other golfers are tied for fourth at 10-under par in the 163-golfer field. The top 25 finishers, plus ties, earn their tour cards for 2009.
