Kansas football players Todd Reesing and Darrell Stuckey earned Big 12 player of the week honors after helping the Jayhawks to a 40-37 victory over Missouri on Saturday.
Reesing was named the conference's offensive player of the week, while Stuckey was honored as the league's defensive player of the week.
Reesing finished 37-for-51 with 375 passing yards and four touchdowns. He also led KU to a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns, including the game-winning TD pass to Kerry Meier with 27 seconds left.
Stuckey, meanwhile, had a hand in three MU turnovers. He had two interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He also had a pass breakup and tied for the team lead with six tackles.
Stuckey became KU's first defensive player to win a conference weekly honor since Charlton Keith in 2005.
The Jayhawks (7-5, 4-4) will know of their bowl destination by Sunday.

Jake Sharp was shafted after his ridiculous performance against K-State. This definitely makes up for it though, both were obviously very deserving.

Nick Reid never won a weekly honor? Wasn't he defensive player of the year in the Big 12?

Looks like the Insight Bowl is where the Hawks will land. Not crazy about the prospect of playing Minnesota (the projected opponent). I'd rather see KU play a more exciting school. If Glen Mason was still at Minnesota then it would be different.

Seriously, I say make it interesting, throw Notre Dame in there. It would be sweet to see KU beatdown the Irish after they trounced us in Lawrence during Terry Allen's farewell tour.

Congrats to Stuckey and Ressing, they were awesome in one of the best football games I've ever seen.Insight is a great bowl for us - good location against a big conference school on New Year's eve.

kuproud,Nick Reid was defensive player of the year in 2005, I assume that he had a few weekly awards that season, apparently all before Charlton Kieth's award.

abe- You're right. KU went to South Bend in 2001. I was confusing Notre Dame with UCLA who came here that same year.

Unfortunately there is not a snowball's chance in hell that a bowl game would choose us over Nebraska least of all because we lost the head-to-head and have a worse record. I didn't care where we ended up and I was okay with pWning a Big 11 school before I read Maxhawk say that the Insight Bowl is on NFL Network. Seriously???? Superf*ck that noise!I have the advantage of living in Lawrence and being able to go to any number of great bars, but not everyone a) wants to go to a bar and b) wants to succumb to the filthy greed that is the NFL. What's more is that I also really want some KSUck fans to be flipping through channels and accidentally come across our bowl game on one of the major networks, particularly those powercat-flag-flyin'-sarah-palin-lovin'-western-kansas-bumpkins.

whoa, whoa, whoa there hot feet! who do we think we are; bitching about who/when we play in ANY bowl? granted, this isn't your father's kufb team, but we're not quite "there" (where ever that is), yet. i'm glad we getting to the post season, and i don't care if we are playing a team that's not "sexy" enough. there's no guarantee that we can beat either minnesota nor wisc, so let's just take what we get, play our best, then see what happens.

Puggy, don't slam Westerners. We want every great kid from Kansas. Don't think that if they are west of Lawrence that they are KSU's by default. But, great job Darrell and Todd. Glad to see you guys back next year. Have a great Holiday and a good whoopin in Tempe of the Gilded Gophers.
