lol... the sarcasm is kinda thick today.
I have one fear concerning Cole... foul trouble. If he can avoid that... he'll be a beast this year. But that's going to be very difficult, especially when we get into league play.

It's good that they are getting this close game experience. Granted no Sherron or the twins, or not Big XII competition either. But good job, Tyshawn Taylor will be a good player.

This experience in Canada is invaluable. Great timing for the kids to get used to each other. Wish the twins were here but I'm tired of harping on it. The clearinghouse will end up happening Monday and fans will wonder if it was Roy or Calipari that was tampering :- []

I'm guessing the clearinghouse will not have a decision on Monday since it's Labor Day... :)
Seriously though, we all expect these guys to stink on this Canada trip. They're very young and have not played together. That's kind of the point of this: gain some experience and chemistry. A close game, or even a loss, can be very beneficial here.
And 18 boards.... nice.

FYI morons...before you jump to conclusions about Aldrich's 18 rebounds, realize that McGill's tallest player last year 6'6" and 170lbs. Aldrich could dunk him.
Be realistic...do you think he could bring down 18 boards against fair competition yet? Me no think so.

everybody needs to stop getting so giddy over Cole's 18 rebounds, for goodness sake he was 5-7 inches taller than the person guarding him most of the game.

This Canada trip is invaluable to this team. We're essentially throwing out a H.S. All-American team out there --- not unlike a few years ago when Rush, Chalmers, Wright were still getting they're feet wet.
We'll definately see some speedbumps along the way. Thanks the the Big 12 North being garbage though we still should win it.
It'll be interesting to see though.

Cole proved himself against North Carolina. I guarantee you he has multiple 20 rebound games during the regular season. He just has the rebounding mentality, and the length and tenacity to back it up.
Prediction:
Cole averages 12+ rebounds a game this year and leads the Big XII.

brother_cumulus,
FYI, moron... rebounding is a lot more than size. A lot more. It's about positioning, strength, fundamentals and instinct. Dennis Rodman is 6 foot 8, more than 3 inches shorter than Aldrich, yet he was one of the best rebounders in the NBA.
With the exception of a few, no one is getting crazy excited about the 18 boards. Everyone, from my line of sight, is just happy to see him excel against inferior opponents as he should. That's a good sign, and no reason to call people names.
He needs to be an anchor on the inside, and this is the first step toward that. Lighten up all of you and stop trying to "call out" your fellow fans.

Cole should have big rebounding games against this competition. However, with that said, toward the end last year he showed what he can do. In my opinion, with those long arms, he rebounds away from his body as well as anyone I've ever seen. What's scary is he will only get better.

good job, McGill, Naismith's first alma mater, and to a young, inexperienced Jayhawk squad, who live where Naismith chose to live more than half of his life. He would be very proud.
