KU picked sixth in Big 12

The Kansas University soccer team was picked to finish sixth in the Big 12 by the league's coaches in the annual preseason poll, released by the conference office Friday. Texas was selected to finish first, garnering five first place votes and 94 total points. The Longhorns narrowly edged out in-state rival Texas

A&M (four first-place votes, 93 total points) for the honor. Missouri was chosen to finish third with 77 total points. Oklahoma State (71) and Colorado were selected fourth and fifth respectively, followed by Kansas with 60 points. Texas Tech (48), Nebraska (33), Oklahoma (29), Iowa State (18) and Baylor (14) rounded out the poll.

I think 6th is a great spot to be in. With all said and done KU is in a perfect position to play spoiler this year. KU has some new and old talent that have been flying underneath the radar long enough to go from looking like a flock of sparrows to a single minded Jayhawk! Don't be surprised if they pull out a 3rd plus finish in the end. I've seen it happen before!

They sure looked great against Drake today...several good new additions really provided some scoring punch.
