Those wishing to get their Kansas-Missouri football tickets will need to act fast, as KU's allotment of tickets is running out quickly.

KU associate athletic director Jim Marchiony said Wednesday that the university only had single tickets available, and that only 100-150 of those seats remained.

Both schools received between 29,000 and 30,000 tickets for the game, and Marchiony said that KU held 3,000 of those tickets back for students. Those seats will go on sale when KU students return from summer vacation.

KU will face Missouri in the Border Showdown on Nov. 29 at Arrowhead Stadium. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Net.

The question is how many tickets did KU sell before making them public?

If you haven't done so then get off your butts and buy these remaining tickets so I don't have sit around a bunch of Misery fans like I did last season.

Unfortunately this is really old news ...Missouri Tiger fans have been buying these tickets since they were first made available, two weeks ago this Friday!!I spend a LOT of time on Tigerboard.com, this is going to get very interesting.

If you want to get the best seats in the future, there is one guaranteed method for doing so.Join the Williams Fund.Even a small donation will put you ahead of everyone waiting around for a public sale. You don't have to be an oil tycoon. A few bucks will get your foot in the door ahead of the general public that doesn't donate. If you are disappointed because you can't find seats you like in the public sale, you have nobody to blame but yourself.

sevenyearhawk is right. my neighbor is a big mizzou fan and he said everyone he knows has been going through the KU ticket office for their tix. Dont be surprised to see a lot of black and gold in the KU section.

People, let's not be stupid here. Ever since MU has pretended they've been making a huge run on KU tickets, I've looked online and the only thing that was left in the KU section was the corners of the upperdeck. In the KC paper, Marchiony said Williams Fund and season ticket holders bought 90% of the tickets. So if Mizzou fans bought every other ticket, at most they'd have 3000 tickets. I know KU fans are great and all, but how many of you would be running to buy tickets in the MU section in a similar situation? Not too many. So while I don't doubt Mizzou fans have bought some KU tickets, there are plenty of Mizzou fans that don't want to sit with KU fans any more than we want to sit with them. Regardless of how many tickets MU fans may or may not have purchased, this year will be a major improvement over last year when so many family packers sold KU out for a huge profit. It's not a big deal that they sold the tickets, it's just that they unloaded them to MU fans. And for those that think this is some kind of sign that this game is going to end. Let's get real, the game is effectively sold out on August 14. We've never sold any game out this early, and we haven't been able to sell out a game at Memorial yet. It doesn't mean this game will stay at Arrowhead, but based on such strong ticket sales, I'm guessing the money is going to get a lot bigger and this game will be committed longer than two years.

hawkfan20 thanks for the answer -- 27,000.Since KU had 30k allotted and Mizzou had 30k, I assume the other 18,000 went to Chiefs season ticket holders? If so, what do you think? About 1/2 of those will go on the open market?

jhawk4life1976 I agree with you. Last year I sat around some of the most pathetic MU fans I've ever seen. They would not leave anyone alone around them. It'll be different this year when they go home losers.

To add some real numbers into this discussion, the minimum donation to be in the Williams Fund is $100 a year. Besides giving you early access to football games like this one at Arrowhead, you also get the chance to buy KU Basketball tickets about two days before they go on sale to the general public.

Ah, the Border disagreement. No wonder the KU-MU rivalry wasn't selected as one of college's best. Let's rename it the Border War, as it was and should be. Political Correctness can be carried too far (and usually is).

My friends and I are recent grads (Not Williams Fund Members) and bought 20 tickets thru the KU Office the first day they were available to the public. I doubt too many MU fans bought their Tix from KU for the reasons mentioned above. The problem is with the Chiefs season ticket holders that buy them and sell their seats to the highest bidder. Last year MU fans were willing to pay more to get into the game. I have 2 extra tickets b/c I have chiefs season tickets and I will only sell them to KU fans. If anyone has extra tickets and is planning on selling them try to make sure you are selling them to KU fans. It's not that hard to figure out what team the buyer is a fan of, especially on craigslist.

I am a recent grad with an entry level job complete with abysmal entry level pay, commute 100 miles rountrip to said job, and have rent + bills + student loan payback to deal with each month, and I can still swing the $100 to join the Williams Fund. $100 over the course of a YEAR ($0.27 a day) is peanuts.Granted, you'll be low man on the totem pole with respect to your WF membership, but you'll still have a leg up on non-member fans.

Believe me folks, the Williams fund is a good investment to assure first dubs on season tickets.Things should be better organized this year and I think the KU people will be all together.

Digest, the Chiefs got around 20K, but only 2 small buffer sections were in the lower deck. There were a few more on the club level and the rest were in the upper deck. I don't really have a read on the Chiefs tickets. It's hard to say. I know a lot of KU people thought they got burned buying tickets through KU and then didn't get as good as seats as Chiefs people (unless you were a big KU donor). There may end up being a few more MU fans there, but it won't be noticeable at the game. More KU fans will learn they have to commit to buying tickets in the summer and you can't sit around and wait a week before the game to make sure your schedule is free. I knew quite a few people that had that problem last year and then when they wanted to go, they didn't want to go bad enough because the ticket prices were so outrageous on the secondary market. We'll certainly have a much better chance to win this one than if we had to play it in Columbia.
