— An offensive lineman dismissed from LSU after breaking team rules has transferred to Oklahoma.

Jarvis Jones played seven games during the Tigers' national championship season last year. The 6-foot-7, 294-pound Jones was present at the Sooners' practice on Thursday.

"Jarvis is a talented guy who we recruited when he was in high school," OU coach Bob Stoops said. "We're excited that he has joined the team."

Jones, 20, played as a backup at left tackle and right guard as a freshman last season. He will be eligible to compete at Oklahoma in the 2009 season.

He is from Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenburg, Texas.

Oklahoma had a scholarship open last week when receiver Josh Jarboe was kicked off the team.

Eventually, recruiting these felonious types will catch up with Stoops. Oh, those salad days of Switzer's doping, shooting, and raping scandal. Keep it up Bob; we'll see you in court.
