Special to the Journal-World
"An Incredible Year" documents Kansas University's 2007-08 men's basketball season.
2008 NCAA Championship
You experienced the championship; now you can read the book.
The World Company today releases "An Incredible Year," a 176-page, full-color book about Kansas University's men's basketball NCAA championship season.
The book, officially licensed by Kansas University, features stories about the players and coach Bill Self, hundreds of photos and new introductions by Journal-World Sports Editor Tom Keegan and Assistant Sports Editor Gary Bedore, the 2008 Kansas Sports Writer of the Year.
"This book is a look back at how our staff captured an incredible year none of us will ever forget," said Keegan, whose columns appear in the book. "Here's hoping reading it will keep the memories fresh forever."
"An Incredible Year" takes fans into the locker room and onto the court throughout the season and captures the Big 12 and NCAA tournament sweeps.
"Even before the Jayhawks won the national championship, our reporters, photographers and designers were putting together many of the photos and stories that make up this special commemorative book," said Journal-World General Manager Al Bonner. "We think 'An Incredible Year' represents the definitive account of KU's national championship run and outstanding season. We are very pleased and proud of the results."
The softcover book costs $24.95, plus tax. A hardcover book will be available next week for $37.95.
"An Incredible Year" is available at the Lawrence Journal-World, 609 N.H., and at retail locations throughout Lawrence.
The book also can be ordered online at LJWorldstore.com. Those who already have ordered the book online should receive it later this week.

Yet another, 'advertisement' w/o the disclaimer.
Isn't it a little early in 2008 to be giving out 'Kansas Sports Writer of the Year'?

Do you really?
(Hear the sarcasm dripping?)
I suppose the LJW is just a business in the end, and not some iconic bastion of objectivity and enthralling podcasts.

Shameless! Don't buy this. Just search the online archives! Books like these are nothing but reprints of stuff that already ran in the paper. Firms make one for each Final Four team. It's a scam.

P Rattler-
It has to do with when the award was presented, and by whom. Odds are the 2008 award is for 2007 work(s).
Not that you couldn't figure it out.
And nobody made you read the "advertisment." Last I checked, the site belongs to the J-W, and they can do, within reason, what they want.

Newspapers are businesses, and businesses sell things. No sales? No paychecks, no newspapers.
Newspapers will fade over time, and these kinds of books are generally printed on a higher quality paper more likely to stand the test of time. Did you expect a season recap to be produced with all new content?
Basically; it's a yearbook. I want one, and I'll get one.

LAJay-
If I never read the words 'suck it' from you or anyone else for as long as I live, it would be a welcome omission from the analogs of this site.
I am supremely bemused by your assertions at such contemptible tripe when we, are in fact, all KU fans.
Are you the sort that would feast on your own young should you go hungry? Your reprehensible affronts are akin to that of an insect.

lajayhawk, you need to calm down. why even post if all you can come up with are petty insults and juvenile sayings? try to be a bit more mature rather than calling out fellow jayhawk fans, make your parents proud of you.
