Doors opened early at Allen Fieldhouse to accommodate a restless crowd, eager to find seats to a ceremony honoring the Kansas University men's basketball team. Officials opened the doors at about 4:30 and the fieldhouse is already about three-fourths full. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. It follows a parade in downtown Lawrence, attended by an estimated 80,000 people.
Athletics department officials expect about 15,000 fans to attend this evening's ceremony, which includes a review of the championship season, speeches by the team's seniors and the presentation of the Danny Manning "Mr. Jayhawk" Award.
A steady stream of fans continue to enter the field house, and parking around the building is scarce.
More details as they develop.

Man I wish I could be at Allen. If I didn't live in Denver, I'd be there.
Great question strikewso, someone please post.
I hope we can also see a streaming video of tonight's award show.

Yeah, AFH and Lawrence must be rocking today, I wish I could have been there. Maybe next time.
I've seen Mario's shot a hundred times on CBSsports but I'd love to hear the radio call from our guys.
