Kansas University junior basketball guard Brandon Rush has a Missouri court date related to a family court and child support case when the season ends.
According to Jackson County, Mo., court records, Rush has a hearing scheduled for May 13 in Kansas City, Mo. The case was filed March 11 along with a motion for civil contempt. According to the Missouri Bar Association, a judge can enforce a child support order through a civil contempt order.
A court spokeswoman said Friday the file was in a judge's possession and specific information was unavailable. Much of the information in the online court records were not listed as public information.
Rush also has a Lawrence Municipal Court appearance scheduled for April 11 after he was arrested in December on two warrants for failure to appear in court in Lawrence. Rush had been cited last October for speeding and in December 2006 for driving on the left side of the road and not having proof of insurance.

This is so stupid! Does the entire Jayhawk nation need to know this news NOW? Get real, I come to this website for quality articles about the upcoming weekend, not Brandon's court dates! Gimmie a break!!!

This definitely seems like something that would show up on a UNC website trying to tarnish Rush, and KU's reputation.

This site is not the right venue for this b.s. I suggest LJW get rid of it. It's not fair to our amateur student-athletes, and the timing is terrible. But then the LJW has never really had much class when it comes to handling Rush -- I'm looking at you, Mayer.

Come on folks. This kid is accused of two pretty serious matters. He's also puts on a KU shirt every time he plays. We don't need kids like this on KU. Brandon will probably go invisible tomorrow night anyway. That's the tune he plays in big games.

That is an absolute JOKE (and so are you Cherry), who from UNC paid someone to have this crap printed at this time. Did someone JUST find out about this. Kind of dought it. Weather we "don't need kids like this" or not, I really could care less. We have all lived and breathed these hawks all year and it is down to what we have all prayed for. I could care less If they are wanted for murder. If they are at the final four, than they are not being hunted very hard. Give it up!!!!!!!!!!!

Never seen trashier journalism in my life. Yes they knew of this information. They are exploiting a kid on the eve of the biggest game of his life. Lowest of the low LJW.

What is the right venue for discussing this? Oprah? Dr. Phil? Bring Jerry Springer back?Let's see...Sherron has a kid he doesn't live with.Brandon has a kid he doesn't live with. Was Self trying to tell us something when he cracked during the season that Sasha was the only guy on the team he'd let near his daughter? This all boils down to what kind of fathers these two fellows are? Do they spend time with their children? Do they act like fathers to their children? Are they good role models for their children? Do they help support them?If they are, then they've got nothing to be ashamed of here and neither does the Jayhawk nation? If they aren't, then they and we have some soul searching to do, Final Four, or no Final Four.

Jackass-journalism. Okay, okay, so you prove your precious f--king point that you are 'impartial' to your hometown team, and I suppose that makes you idiots feel like you are carrying the banner for 'objective journalism'. Why the distraction at precisely this juncture? All you prove is insensitivity. Get some reporters to ask Brandon some legal questions before a big game--its all poor taste and NOT relevant news now, or probably ever. On par with the National Enquirer, or some other "dirt" publication, thats all it is. I hope you find my post as offensive as I find this trash journalism! Oh, and I am not a lone voice: Read more above and below, jackasses! Quit wasting our time, you stupid fool.

I cant think of one good reason for the LJWorld to do this. Only an attempt to defame Brandon, the program and the fans on the eve of a historic Final Four. Classy indeed.LJW has lost my support.

I guess I am a little surprised any of you expected anything different from the Lawrence Urinal World. In the last 40 years I have been exposed to this rag, inaccurace reporting, sensationalism, rumor-mongering, news-whoring, unfounded accusations, etc., etc., etc, have been the common denominator for this third class pile of yellow journalism.I am truly surprised that the comments to this website aren't screened and censored. Probably not so much a tip of the cap to free speech but a product of LJW's incompetence in completing this basic task.I am afraid the world we live in today has little use for respect of privacy, due process, honesty and forgiveness. And it just sucks that right before one of the great days in KU basketball the team and the fans get bombarded by this stuff.Well, they've overcome so much this season, might as well throw the hometown newspaper into the mix as well. KUcan...UNCan't

Funny MOJHawk that you used the word "incompetent"... that's exactly what I thought.Anyone else find it odd that there's no name stapled to this article? That tells me whoever brought this up KNOWS they're a freakin tool. The case was filed MARCH 11th!! I highly doubt it's just a coincidence that some jackass journalist waited 24 days later to find it and write about it. Seriously... grow some balls and put your frickin name on the article so we all know who the incompetent jackass is that sat on this story this long just to try to stir up some controversy at the perfect time. Not that I believe a big deal will be made about it... but it's the intent that I find irritating.Seriously, if this came from a UNC website... I wouldn't be the least bit offended or remotely care. But this getting posted on this website... when there's so much else to write about... is absolute bull$$$$. Seriously, it's been nice talking KU hoops with most of you... but screw LJW or Kusports.com or whoever and all the worthless-ass-wishing-they-could-be-paying-child-support-but-they-could-never-get-laid writers. Don't need em to follow my Hawks.
