Cedar Falls, Iowa — Kansas University's swimming and diving team beat Northern Iowa, 180-80, on Saturday.

In the first dual meet of the season, the Jayhawks captured first-place victories in all but one race in the Wellness & Recreation Center on the UNI campus. Panther sophomore Amanda Firman won the 50-yard freestyle to prevent the sweep.

Freshman Joy Bunting led the way for the Jayhawks, recording her first collegiate dual-meet victories in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.25) and 200-yard IM (2:08.85). Also making her college debut appearance was freshman Brittany Potter, recording a winning time of 2:09.81 in the 200-yard butterfly.

Sophomore Emily Lanteigne captured first in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:39.72), in addition to the 500-yard freestyle victory (5:09.16), stacking 18 individual points for the Jayhawks.

Also contributing 18 individual points toward the Kansas victory was senior Terri Schramka, winner of the 100-yard freestyle (53.47) and the 100-yard backstroke (58.43) and a member of the first-place 200-yard medley and free relays.

The other Kansas victories: Alicia Casillas, 200-yard freestyle (1:54.68); Danielle Herrmann, 200-yard backstroke (2:07.05); Ashley Leidigh, 100-yard butterfly (57.92); and Rhynn Malloy, 200-yard breaststroke (2:27.49).

KU will play host to Missouri on Friday. Meet time will be 6 p.m. at Robinson Natatorium.
