KU-CU kickoff time will be announced Sunday

ABC is choosing to wait until Sunday to decide which game it wants to broadcast on Oct. 20.

The networks usually decide 12 days in advance, but the Big 12's television deal with ABC allows the network to wait until six days ahead of time three times this season. ABC is using that right for the first time.

After ABC decides on Sunday for its 2:30 p.m. window on Oct. 20, ESPN (4:30 p.m.), Versus (11:30 a.m.) and Fox Sports Net (11:30 a.m.) then will get to decide. Of the five Big 12 games played that weekend -- Kansas at Colorado, Texas Tech at Missouri, Texas A&M at Nebraska, Oklahoma at Iowa State and Texas at Baylor -- four will be on televison

Wow Ku_fan5. Have you ever heard of punctuation?? That was hard to read. As a KU fan how can you prefer to see those other games? I would kill to have this game on national TV.

ditto, hometown. Wow. fan5 just joined on Saturday, so we should probably cut him some slack :)

I think this coming weekend, if MU & Texas A&M lose, and KU and CU win, we just might get the ABC game. It will be a match-up of the only two conference undefeated teams.

J-W Staff, there are six Big 12 games being played on Oct. 20th. The Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State game is just not one of the five games being considered for TV.

Aside from the bizarre lack of punctuation, grammar, etc. (is that English? Swahili? Piglatin?), I find it very strange, not to mention insensitive to KU fans, that "KU_fan5" says he doesn't care if KU is on TV. Well, "KU fan," the thousands of us around the country who have very few chances to see KU play, care immensely whether the game is on TV.

Personally I would rather have the 4:30 ESPN game than the 2:30 ABC game. I think that its better publicity, when people turn on college football on Saturdays they go to ESPN first. Not to mention that game will come up against College Gamenight or whatever its called so more people will be watching. Give Mizzou the ABC game.

It is a dubious distinction, that ABC decided for the first time to pull out its "wait-and-see" card on US. Oh well, I dont mind that people still doubt us (we still have ALOT to prove to ourselves), but hopefully we take care of business at home (as well as CU) this weekend, so the entire nation can see us in action! GO KU!

My DishNetwork guide shows Texas v Iowa State as the game on FoxMW on Saturday at 12:30pm eastern. I hope that's a mistake.

Crooner - While KU is half of one of the games being decided, ABC is waiting for the conclusion of all of them.

What is amazing to me is that they would choose Oklahoma at Iowa State or Texas at Baylor over ksu & osu. Just goes to show they really aren't worried about quality as much as ratings.

With all the attrition to "top" teams, it almost feels like March to me; survive and advance.

As someone not living in the MW anymore, I'm hoping ABC does NOT choose us, because then you can't even go to the Pub and watch it. ABC force feeds Pac10 out here, just as they will the ACC/BigEast on the east coast, and SEC in the SE. At least with ESPN & Fox, you can watch the game at the Pub or with a special cable/directTV package.

It would nice to see the Hawks again on ABC...I mean...ESPN on ABC.

I hate that ESPN swallowed ABC Sports. That and MNF not being on ABC is a travesty. But not as much of a travesty as Trajan on basketball uniforms.

ABC reaches more housholds. There are some families out there that only have basic cable, some of those families might have a son that gets exposure to KU and might someday want to play for us. Not so bad??

ABC also does regional coverage so unless the people you speak of live in the KC area they will not be able to watch the 'hawks.

As for ESPN, it is offered with almost every basic cable package there is.
