Kansas University quarterback Todd Reesing was named Big 12 co-offensive player of the week, it was announced today.
Reesing, who shared the honor with Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell, passed for 253 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-7 win over Iowa State. Reesing completed 19 of his first 20 passes, the one incompletion a throw-away.
It's the first time Reesing, a Heisman Trophy candidate, has been honored by the league office this season.

On Sportscenter the last few days, they have continued to praise Chase Daniel's work against K-State calling him a Heisman candidate because he "threw for 4 touchdowns." I never heard them mention once that Reesing did exactly the same... only better. Reesing had a completion percentage of 80.8 to Daniel's 63.4. Reesing averaged 9.7 per throw to Daniel's 6.2. Yet ESPN gave Daniel the extra attention. Maybe after this Saturday, Reesing will stop playing second fiddle to everyone else in college football.

The border war at Arrowhead will settle the Reesing - Daniels dispute. No need to debate it now.

I gotta admit, Chase Daniels is aptly named! Our D-Line and Linebackers will be "Chasing" Daniels ugly a** down all night! LOL
Here's hoping Mike & Joe and the boys get up close and personal with him on Saturday night!

And what a stage it will be! I sure hope our trainers can get Reesing's ankle fixed up before Saturday. I hope Anthony Collins plays. What's the word on Resby? And how about Kendrick Harper? We really need all the d-backs we can get Saturday against Mizzou. Quite a game for a true freshman like Phillip Strozier to be the 3rd corner! I assume that means he's in on nickel packages which there should be plenty of with MU running 4 and 5 wide.

The previous comment was not a "Reesing - Daniels... debate." My point was that Reesing has not received the attention he deserves for a great year. Other QBs have national talking heads constantly spouting out the stats they put up when Reesing has consistently been better with no mention. And this week I noticed it specifically with Daniels. It's not about debate, it's about giving an exceptional athlete his due. Again, as I stated above, this Saturday gives Reesing the chance to show the college football world what he's all about.

My boy Todd Heisman is due to get some hype. A big game against MU on Saturday could vault him into the Heisman talk nationally.

You KNOW Reesing would rather have the Big 12 Championship than the Heisman because that means KU's playing for the National Championship......

espn has a GREAT article about Daniel and Reesing...
by the way... Reesing was not named a finalist for the Davey, but Daniel was...
not sure about anyone else, but I'm going to split all of my votes between Tebow and Dixon (the other two finalists...)
I'm still a firm believer that the reason Reesing isn't putting up monster numbers is because we have a running game...
Tebow IS florida's running game, Dixon doesn't have amazing yardage numbers, and Daniel has lots of yards but also throws a lot more passes per game than Reesing (plus when Tony Temple is your 1st string back you don't want to run very much)
Reesing has been the leader of our team in every game and has WON every game he has started this year. The only other QB who can say that is Colt Brennan.

I can't believe that Reesing was left off of the O'brien award ballots. Let's go Todd, show 'em up!

Reesing will get his award one game at a time. Like how he keeps sawing logs. Oh yes he dosn't have as many stats as some qbs because KU has such and awesome balanced offencive attack. Reesing for Superman!!!!
