Manhattan The Kansas University rowing team fell Saturday to Kansas State, 16-9, in KU's final fall regatta.
The Jayhawks took the three novice races, but narrowly fell to K-State in the varsity races. It was K-State's first victory over the Jayhawks in a dual since 2005.
Elise Langtry (coxswain), Melanie Luthi, Cassie Sparks, Meaghan Oven, Denise Orloff, Jenny Robb, Inga Schuchard,
Julia Matthias and Julia Guard comprised the Jayhawk First Novice Eight boat that defeated Kansas State by seven seconds. The victory gave Kansas five points and gave KU a 9-3 advantage before K-State rallied to take the final two races.
