KU baseball rolls, 8-5

Missouri State pitching was just what Kansas University needed to get KU pitcher Andy Marks a victory. The Bears allowed the Jayhawks to give Marks some run support finally. Kansas won, 8-5, on Wednesday at Hoglund Ballpark against a Bears team that had lost 14 straight before beating Evansville on Sunday.

KU's Self to Sonics simply scuttlebutt

Here's a new rumor for the water cooler: Bill Self to the NBA? Tulsa World columnist Dave Sittler wrote about speculation "growing in college and NBA circles" about a logical candidate for the Seattle SuperSonics head-coaching vacancy. It's Self, Kansas University's current leader.

Kansas softball 7th seed

A year ago, Kansas University shocked Big 12 Conference softball by rising from the sixth seed to capture the league tournament. Now, in order to repeat as champions, the Jayhawks will have to do it from the No. 7 slot.

KU track gets academic honors

Kansas University placed 19 student-athletes on the Academic All-Big 12 Track and Field teams - 11 women and eight men - and KU led the league with six representatives with perfect 4.0 grade-point averages.
