FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. Junior Ashley Brown set a Kansas University record, and five other Jayhawks registered new regional marks or improved their qualifying standards Friday at the Arkansas Twilight.
Brown set a school record in the 100-meter hurdles in 13.31 seconds. The mark bests the previous school mark held by Jennie Wonder by one one-hundredths of a second.
Julius Jiles established a career-best time in the 110-meter hurdles in 13.85 seconds.
Matt Baysinger earned his first regional mark of the season, finishing second in the 800 in 1:50.04. Victoria Howard added a regional mark in the 200 in 23.45. Eric Babb finished second the long jump, clearing 25-11â4.
Laura Gjerde cleared 12-6 to improve her regional qualifying mark and finish third in the women's pole vault. Jordan Scott was second in the men's pole vault at 17-03â4.
