Durant shows up for second half
Kevin Durant’s first-half performance was forgettable. Luckily for Texas, he made up for it by putting on a show in the second half. Durant, the league’s player of the year, missed his first 12 shots but recovered to finish with 29 points and 13 rebounds, and the fifteenth-ranked Longhorns came from 20 points down to beat Baylor 74-69 Friday night in the Big 12 Conference tournament quarterfinals.

Wildcats rout Red Raiders
Kansas State players Lance Harris and Cartier Martin heard the rumblings that the Wildcats might not merit a berth in the NCAA tournament, and they determined to do everything they could Friday to make sure their team isn’t left out. Harris finished with 20 points and Martin added 17 as the Wildcats polished their tournament credentials with a 66-45 win over Texas Tech in the Big 12 Conference tournament quarterfinals.

Tying up loose ends from Friday’s 17-point KU romp over Oklahoma in the Big 12 tournament quarterfinals. KU made the run thanks in large part to an overwhelming second half in which staunch defense helped the Jayhawks score plenty in transition and held OU to a 4-of-20 showing from the field.
Big second half helps KU blast OU, 64-47
OKLAHOMA CITY - Brandon Rush led all scorers with 16 points, with 13 of those coming in the second half. KU mangled OU in the game’s final 20 minutes, as the Sooners converted just four field goals after halftime. Darrell Arthur added 10 for KU, just days after coming down with a flu bug. The Jayhawks will take on the winner of this afternoon’s Texas Tech/Kansas State game at 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the Ford Center.
