Roeland Park Miege guard chooses Kansas over several Big 12 rivals
Roeland Park Miege star guard Travis Releford, who will be a senior this season, announced Tuesday evening his intention to play college basketball at Kansas University. Releford, the No. 66 ranked player in the Class of 2008 by Rivals.com and the No. 25 ranked prospect by Scout.com, is a 6-foot-4 shooting guard who was also had scholarship offers on the table from Big 12 schools such as Missouri, Kansas State, Texas and Oklahoma.
Body near campus poses mystery to police
Lawrence police are investigating an unattended death near the Kansas University campus this afternoon after a someone discovered a body hanging inside a small outbuilding. “We found a small shed behind the residence, and there’s a body hanging in the shed. It’s obviously been there for a long time,” said Capt. Ray Urbanek.

Stewart always willing to participate in impromptu dunk drills at camp
Rodrick Stewart isn’t afraid to attempt slam dunks with high degrees of difficulty. “I’m the guy on the team who will always try any dunk. Like if a little kid asks me to try a behind-the-back dunk, I’ll do it. It’s something me and coach Self always joke around about, how I miss a lot of dunks,” Stewart, Kansas University’s senior guard from Seattle, said with a big grin.

Football squad sets its own mark with 2.69 GPA
A total of 247 student-athletes, representing 61 percent of Kansas University student-athletes, earned spots on the Athletics Directors’ Honor Roll with grade-point averages of 3.0 or better during the spring semester, KU officials announced Monday. In all, 36 achieved perfect 4.0 GPAs.
