The Kansas University women's tennis team fell to Indiana, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at First Serve in the Jayhawks' opening match of the 2007 season.
KU's lone point came at No. 4 singles, where sophomore Edina Horvath chalked up a 6-4, 6-3 victory against Indiana's Brianna Williams.
Horvath and junior Elizaveta Avdeeva also won their match at No. 1 doubles with an 8-4 triumph over Indiana's Alba Berdala and Laura McGaffigan. However, the Hoosiers won the two remaining doubles matches to earn the lone doubles-team point.
KU will return to action today when it plays host to a doubleheader at First Serve. The Jayhawks will open against Tulsa at 10 a.m., followed by their match against Drake at 3 p.m.
