Mosley’s buzzer-beater lifts KU past Texas
Senior guard Shaquina Mosley’s memorable stretch run to the season continued Saturday night, this time producing a 50-49 win for the Kansas University women’s basketball team over Texas Saturday night in Austin. Mosley had the ball late and had the ball swatted out of bounds, forcing officials to review the play on television monitors to see how much time should be remaining. The crew gave KU 0.4 seconds to get a shot off trailing by one. Ivana Catic came into the game, found Mosley under the hoop and she put it in for the win.

Tying up loose ends from KU’s win Saturday at Mizzou, which clinched a season sweep in the Border War and went down as the Jayhawks’ first win yet in Mizzou Arena’s two-plus year history. Russell Robinson then went to the line and hit one of two free throws as Mizzou Arena began to clear out for the afternoon. Keon Lawrence came back to hit one of two as well. Julian Wright then corralled a Russell Robinson miss in the lane, put it back with ease and bumped his point total to 33, besting his previous career high now by 10. The Jayhawks ultimately finished off Missouri 92-74, with Julian Wright leading the way with 33 points. Brandon Rush had 21, and Sherron Collins 14 for the Jayhawks, who improved to 21-4 overall on the season and 8-2 in Big 12 play. They’ll travel to take on Colorado Wednesday night in Boulder.
