Orange Bowl
Kansas University's women's basketball team will leave for its Jan. 4 game with Xavier in Cincinnati a day early. The departure gives the team a night at its hotel to watch the Jayhawk football team take on Virginia Tech Jan 3. in the Orange Bowl.
"We've actually changed our travel plans so we could watch the game in our suite," Kansas coach Bonnie Henrickson said. "We all want to watch it."
Henrickson offered the assurance that, although she coached at Virginia Tech for eight years, she would root for KU.
"I will not privately be wearing any orange and maroon," she said. "Jayhawks all the way."
