Missouri clobbers Coppin State

— DeMarre Carroll scored 19 points to help Missouri run its nonconference home winning streak to 26 games with a 72-38 victory over Coppin State on Thursday.

Carroll, who came off the bench for the first time this season, shot 7-for-8 from the field and had nine rebounds for the Tigers (9-4).

Stefhon Hannah, a starter in Missouri's first 12 games, also came off the bench. He finished with 10 points and six assists.

Leo Lyons had 11 points for the Tigers, and J.T. Tiller, making his first career start, added 10 points.

The Tigers, who came into Thursday night averaging more than 82 points per game, were held to their second-lowest scoring output of the season.

Coppin State (3-11) made just six shots from the field in the first half and shot 26 percent for the game. It was the sixth time this season Missouri has held its opponent below 60 points, and the second time in the last four games its opponent scored less than 50.

Brian Chestnutt led the Eagles with nine points.
