Lincoln. Neb. Kansas University's women's golf team moved up two spots on the final day to place third of 14 teams Tuesday at Nebraska's Chip-N Club Invitational. The Jayhawks finished with a total score of 943 (322-317-304) at the 6,040-yard, par-72 Yankee Hill Country Club.
The Jayhawks' final-round 304 was the lowest score of the day and moved them past Missouri State by two strokes and Kansas State by four strokes. Nebraska took top honors for the fourth straight year with a total score of 929, and Campbell finished second with 935. Freshman Meghan Gockel led with three-round total of 231, good for a fourth-place tie.
KU will play host to the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational on Oct. 2-3 at Alvamar Golf Club.
