Kansas University's men's basketball team has completed its non-conference schedule and will play Winston-Salem State on December 19, KU athletic department officials announced Tuesday.
Winston-Salem State is an independent for the 2006-07 season as it transitions to NCAA Division I status. Located in North Carolina, Winston-Salem State went 19-10 last season in NCAA Division II. Bobby Collins, who is in his first season at WSSU, coaches the Rams. Another famous coach of at WSSU is Clarence "Big House" Gaines who coached WSSU from 1947-93. Gaines ranks fifth all time in NCAA history with 828 victories.
The Winston-Salem State contest will air on Jayhawk TV with tip set for 7 p.m. (Central).
KU officials also anounced the Kansas at DePaul contest on Dec. 2 will start at 1 p.m. (Central). That contest and the Rhode Island at Kansas game on Dec. 30 will air on Jayhawk TV.
