Kansas University running back Jon Cornish and cornerback Aqib Talib were named first-team All-Big 12 Conference by the league's football coaches Tuesday, and six more Jayhawks were honored, as well.

Cornish, a senior out of New Westminster, British Columbia, will lead the Big 12 with 1,457 rushing yards. He was the main source of KU's offense, which scored 30 points in a game seven times in 12 games.

Talib, a Richardson, Texas, native, had six interceptions and leads NCAA Division I-A in passes defended.

Senior center David Ochoa and junior fullback Brandon McAnderson were named to the second team, while safety Jerome Kemp, defensive tackle James McClinton, linebacker Mike Rivera and guard Bob Whitaker were named honorable mention.
