I lived in Bloomington, Indiana for 20 yrs. when IU won three national titles. That's right, I'm old. I'm old enough to remember the positive aspect of Bob Knight's coaching.

Knight had talented players who were challenged to play to their potential each and every night. It didn't matter if you were a starter or a sub, whether your opponent was Oral Roberts or Florida, you played to the best of your ability and stayed focused or you sat on the bench. Personal perfection, doing what you could to help the team to the best of your ability, was your goal: winning was a by-product. You could win by 20 and still be in the coach's dog house. Such an approach limited the mental ups and downs in the season because the team was always required to be focused, always. And since a win didn't necessarily mean you played a great game, coach's praise didn't always coincide with the score.

Bill Self has done a hellava job putting this team together. They would probably beat a handful of NBA teams that don't know how to play defense.

I would have to say in the 11 years I have watched KU basketball, the Kansas vs Florida game was absolutely the most exciting game I have ever witnessed. I felt like we were winning a Final Four! Go Hawks!!!!
