Anderson picks Oklahoma State

James Anderson, a 6-foot-5 forward ranked as the No. 34 prospect in the class of 2007 by rivals.com, announced today in a press conference at his high school his intention to play for Sean Sutton at Oklahoma State next season.

Anderson, a senior at Junction City (Ark.) high school, picked the Cowboys over Kansas, Kentucky, Florida and Arkansas.

It means that the lone signee KU will ink today to an official letter of intent is 6-foot-10 forward Cole Aldrich from Bloomington, Minn. Aldrich, who is a senior at Bloomington Jefferson high school, is ranked by rivals as the No. 25 prospect in his class, and is ranked fifth among centers.

I wish him the best at Oklahoma State except when he tips off against the Hawks. Would have really like to have him, but we will still be really good. We just now have to find someone else.

Oh well, at least he brought his talent to the Big 12. With James and the other new recruits joining the Big 12, the competition can only help come tournament time. Go Hawks

dude chose sean sutton over KU, kentucky, and florida? my guess is dude's gonna have trouble in the classroom.

I agree with Samer. Let's show some class and wish him and any other recruit who picks another college good luck.

Now that nearly every blue chipper is signed for next season, do you think KU finally offers Tyrel Reed a scholarship?

CasperCorps 13 years, 2 months ago

So what now? Do we just hold the scholarship for next year?... Please don't give it to another walk on.....

Chicago_JHawk 13 years, 2 months ago

As long as Bill Self is at Kansas, no Jayhawk fan should be criticizing the ability of another coach!

technically i dont think we officially have a scholarship, even with cj gone, since we dont have any seniors this year and we got one taken away for next year....we were just assuming someone will go to the nba to offer their scholarship.

KU's fine. If I were an 18-year-old and I looked at KU on paper, I wouldn't want to go there right now either. For all anyone knows, every single player will be back and if that were the case, few freshmen would get on the court playing under the team we have right now, especially if they were a year more experienced. Self is a great recruiter. My only hope now is that by the time the 2008 class are freshmen (by the way, in the Rivals class of 2008, there probably 10-12 in the Top 30 who list KU as a school of interest) that not every single player on this year's roster is gone. A stud recruiting class is always exciting, but it can be pretty un-nerving at times as well, just like last year was.

Chicago_Jhawk, must be either drinking water straight from Lake Michigan, or worse still reading that embecile Morrissey. Another possibility is that he isn't a KU fan at all but a Illannoy imposter. Anybody suggesting Self can't coach doesn't know a thing about basketball. And watching Bruce Webber would lower anyone's hoops IQ.

Regarding Thuggins and Silo Tech. The guy obviously took advantage of a glaring loop hole in the NCAA rules. He recruited a team to Thuggins U while he sat out, and he did so working completely outside NCAA restrictions. He won't be able to do that again until he wrecks a few cars while loaded in Manhattan and has to move even further into the sticks, Wyoming next maybe?
