Kansas University senior Crystal Kemp, sophomore Taylor McIntosh and sophomore Jamie Boyd were named to the 2006 women’s basketball academic all-Big 12 team first team, the conference office announced Wednesday.

Kemp, a three-time first-team honoree, has led the Jayhawks in scoring and rebounding the entire season and averages 19.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. She is one of six players in KU history to accumulate at least 1,500 career points and 750 career rebounds.

McIntosh and Boyd were named to the first team in their first year of eligibility for the award. McIntosh has started 25 of 26 games this season and averages 4.6 points and 5.1 points per contest. Boyd has posted 1.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game in her sophomore season.

To qualify for the award, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of her team’s scheduled contests.
